Rev. Greg Markins – Senior Pastor
Pastor Greg was born in Huntington, West Virginia. He is married to the Rev. Teresa Markins, Senior Pastor of Dunbar UMC. They have two adult children (Karah and Ashton) and one grandson (Xander).
Greg graduated from Marshall University in 2005 where he received his undergraduate degree and Duke University Divinity School in 2008 where he received his Masters of Divinity. Prior to answering his call to ministry, he worked in the grocery business for 20 years.
His passions for ministering to God’s children are 1) working to break down barriers where young and old may have an opportunity to hear and/or see the Good News, 2) helping to discover their gifts for ministry, and 3) leading them to grow in Discipleship. He enjoys spending time with his family on the family farm, reading and kayaking.
Stephanie Stacy – Music Director
Stephanie was born in Bluefield, West Virginia and has lived in Nitro since the age of three. She has a daughter Piper and soon-to-be stepdaughter Caroline. Stephanie is engaged to Steve Johnston and the two will be married in the fall. She enjoys spending time with her immediate family including three dogs, two cats, and a fish.
She is a graduate of Nitro High School and West Virginia Wesleyan where she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Arts Administration.
Stephanie has been the Praise Team Director at St. Paul’s UMC for six years. In the summer of 2018 she began directing the St. Paul’s Chancel Choir. Stephanie enjoys being able to worship God through her talents and loves to share them with the church. Music has always been a passion of hers and she strives to find new ways to receive and give the word of God through her love of music.
Leonard Siracusa – Pianist
Leonard is passionate about music. He plays piano, a little guitar, and sings. Leonard also has an accordion that one day he vows to learn how to play. He has a degree in Political Science, one in Music and Worship Ministry, and a Masters in Music Education. Leonard spends his free time making music, looking after his dog Chewy, and enjoying Mexican food during the weekends.
Robert Stringer – Custodian
Robert works in the background to help keep our church in order and clean. We are grateful for his attention to this important task.
